Entering the world of ‘vlogging’

I just bought a Flip-Video camera, so I thought it might be fun to let all of you get to know me a bit more through vlogging — video blogging.
This is only the third video I’ve shot, so please be kind. It’s not art. Not even close. But I’m not showing this video to display my editing and shooting abilities, which certainly need some honing.
My point is that video can be a way to get closer to your blog readers. I started this blog in mid-December, and since then many of you have been kind enough to keep reading it. I figured you deserved to at least hear my voice.
So, now I’ll shut up, and let the video do the talking.

What I’m trying to figure out is, what time zone are you in? This post says Wednesday, April 1, 1:14 a.m.– are you posting from London?

I’m in Eastern time. (I live in Syracuse — upstate New York.)
The time is off because I used to use Wordpress blogging platform, and I just never changed whatever the baseline time zone was. (Honestly, meant to get around to fixing it, and I just forget. Thanks for the reminder.)

Gina, great post! My daughter and I are doing our first experimentation with vlogging while on spring break next week. We’re visiting an aquarium and recording her first-ever interview with a penguin expert for her blog about oceans. Still searching for the right camera, but we at least have great advice, thanks to your vlog post!

I think your video post was great too. It was my first visit to your site – I’m based in the UK – and has definitely encouraged me to engage. Perhaps next time it will be a video response!

Glad you liked the video. I bought my Flip refurbished from http://www.woot.com/.
It was only $80, which is about $40 less than retail. Works fine.
